Coffee Expressions is now offering trendy "bucket"-sized iced coffees, and their partnered company, Crimson Cup, is now available in Post 95.

First announced on their official Instagram, the new Coffee Expression item has caused a lot of buzz, both on Witt's campus and around Springfield. Coffee lovers are purchasing the bucket lattes and posting them online, tagging Coffee Expressions.

According to Liv Farmer, one of the baristas at Coffee Expressions, the idea is to hop on the emerging TikTok trend at coffee shops nationwide.

“We have a pretty even blend of age groups that come in, but the bucket lattes and more creative fall drinks definitely appeal more to younger age groups," said Farmer. She also noted that students often come in to receive the student discount offered after showing a valid college ID.

Coffee Expressions has been a well-loved part of the Springfield community for over 20 years. Opened in 2004 and located on North Plum Street, it has become a staple for many Wittenberg students.

Crimson Cup Coffee, a partner company of Coffee Expressions, is now the coffee option for students visiting Post 95, replacing Starbucks. Student responses to the change have ranged from excitement to apprehension to disappointment.

Students may also opt to get their coffee from Sips Coffee Bar, the student-owned and operated coffee shop located in Wittenberg's Thomas Library. Similar to Coffee Expressions, Sips advertises via its Instagram. The coffee bar commonly features new drinks, patron recommendations, student worker spotlights, and other relevant events.

According to Sips Coffee barista Averi Wells, the fall menu has been very popular, especially its chai drinks. "We have a lot of people come in during the late afternoon."

Wells added, "With Sips being in the library, it is very convenient for people to stop by and get a drink while they are studying, and it adds to the ambience."

Sips's seasonal menus and drinks are created by the staff. "If we come up with a drink and upper management likes it, it gets added to the menu," she explained.

With new seasonal drinks and trendy options, student's have plenty of choices for their between-class, pick-me-up caffeine.
