Hello, fellow tigers!
My name is Hannah, and this space is going to be about asking different, interesting, complex, funny, and unusual questions each week--questions that you, the students of Witt, have a say in!
"Should Wittenberg as a university get involved in helping our Haitian neighbors, to make them feel safe during this ongoing immigration crisis?"
Lily Miller, Class of 2028:
“I think Wittenberg University should be helping to get the resources, but also beyond the necessary resources (food and shelter), and education on how to better defend themselves in a court of law, giving the reasons to understand the formal wording of the court systems.”
Jillian Paskvan, Class of 2027:
“I think, as a community filled with Haitian neighbors in Springfield, we need to help make sure our community is educated and that they know their rights. I also think the information page needs more information to help make it efficient.
“This is an issue of safety, not politics. I think it’s important to take a stand or provide resources to the people in our community so that they know. I think we need to be direct about our stand.”

Kaylei Walhay, Class 2029:
"As a student at Witt, I believe the university should get involved with helping our Haitian community by providing the necessary resources that help their day-to-day lives, whether that be a warm meal or a kind conversation."
Alex Roe (left), Class of 2027:
“Yes, they should. It is good to spread awareness and do the right thing.”
Phoebe Ortiz, Class of 2027:
"I think it would be a good thing if Wittenberg got involved, especially since the Hagen Center is all about community outreach."
